Course Syllabus
1. Techniques, Training, and Practice (100 Hours)
- Asanas: Posture categories like standing, balancing, backbends, forward folds, twists, and inversions (alignment, benefits, and modifications).
- Pranayama & Meditation: Breathing exercises, breath awareness, and guided meditation (dhyana).
- Cleansing & Energy: Shatkarmas (yogi cleansing like Neti and Kapalbhati), bandhas (energy locks), mudras, and mantra chanting.
2. Teaching Methodology (20–25 Hours)
- Class Management: Sequencing, pacing, and verbal or non-verbal cueing.
- Communication: Voice projection, active language, and group dynamics.
- Assist & Adjust: Principles of observing, demonstrating, and safely correcting students.
3. Anatomy and Physiology (20 Hours)
- Physical Anatomy: Musculoskeletal, nervous, and respiratory systems.
- Functional Application: The physiology of asana, postural imbalances, and injury prevention.
- Subtle Anatomy: Introduction to chakras, nadis, and koshas.
4. Yoga Humanities / Philosophy & Ethics (30 Hours)
- Philosophy: Study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Eight Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, and the Bhagavad Gita.
- Lifestyle & Ethics: Principles of ahimsa (non-violence), karma, dharma, and professional teacher-student boundaries.
